"Camping AGAIN?!"

That's exactly what Honey thought! She is such a spoiled princess. She is not the best camper. Surprisingly, she did VERY well this time. Maybe she is resigned to her fate? We could even let her off her cable for long periods of time and she would just hang out with us. But most of the time she preferred to hang out in the van on the air mattress and sleeping bags.

Isn't is funny how Donald and Honey both pose for pictures the same way?

I think I look hideous and fat in the picture below but I had to include it because my husband is such a dork.

This is our sad empty camp. Ha ha. The first night We were expecting Channa and her family to come up but they couldn't find us. They did what me and Donald did that one time looking for the Daly Family. They drove for 6 hours. But they ended up calling it quits around midnight and drove back to the valley. :( It was a bummer. So we had camp all set up for a larger group and it was just the 3 of us. It was still SO much fun. And Rob, Megan, and Brigger came up the next day so that was EXTRA fun. I'm so glad you guys could make it. Sorry I don't have any pictures of the whole crew.

We went on a LONG walk Saturday morning. The woods were beautiful and the weather was perfect. It was nice. We all had a great time except Honey. She was done half way and we had to keep her from laying down in every spot of shade the whole way back to camp. Poor girl has NO stamina.

Later that day we went on another little hike down to Bear Canyon Lake. We found the back way in, where the put the boats in by the damn. It was my favorite part of the trip. HOLY MOLY the lake was gorgeous! The other side of the damn is a deep valley and it is green and beautiful and the trees and the wind and the canyon walls... All of it! I forgot my camera so Rob and Megan have pictures of this gorgeous place.Honey loved it, too. We let her get wet in the lake and she actually swam in the water, voluntarily. That's a first. Next time we camp up on the rim we are going to camp in there closer to that spot so we can walk down there from camp. I can't wait!
